Review(s) | ColourPop Eyeshadow Palettes

Hello everyone. It’s a pleasure to have you back here today. Today will be a few quick reviews on ColourPop’s curated eyeshadow palettes. ColourPop has developed wonderful eye palettes at a price that won’t make your bank account bleed. I do believe that ColourPop is filling the void in the beauty industry that went unnoticed for many years. They produce fun, and innovative products at an affordable price.

Dream St. (KathleenLights Collaboration)
  • Works best on light to medium skin tones
  • Has cool tones to offset warmer shadows
  • Chunkier shimmers function better with a mixing medium

Double Entendre (Tartelette Toasted DUPE!)
  • Classic warm neutrals
  • Ability to create a variety of warm toned looks
  • Wearable warm tones that are easy to work with

Yes, Please! (Natasha Denona Sunset Palette DUPE!)
  • Bold oranges and reds
  • Can be toned down or tuned up
  • Use these colors over a white base (red pigments can stain skin)

You Had Me At Hello (Neutral Toned Golds & Plums)
  • It has neutral tones (not too blue or red)
  • Mirror inside (only ColourPop palette with a mirror to date)
  • Could use less gold, and more purple

I Think I Love You (Liquid metals)
  • Shimmer heavy (three mattes, and one satin. 8 shimmers)
  • Untapped potential in this palette (could have used some jewel tones)
  • Same Packaging as Double Entendre

All I See is Magic (Holiday 2017)
  • A few repeats from core line
  • Good mix of color and neutrals
  • Metallics are soft and intense

Golden State of Mind (Holiday 2017, All Glitter)
  • All glitter finish palette
  • Pigmentation is weak unless used over tacky adhesive
  • Too much similarity amongst eyeshadows

Element of Surprise (Pops of Color & Neutrals)
  • Glitter finishes are extremely dry
  • Opulent (hot pink) needs an pigmented base
  • Color story isn’t cohenerent

Femme Rosa She (discontinued, Karrueche Tran collaboration)
  • Shimmer heavy palette (variety of true frost and glitter finishes)
  • Four mattes can be used to add depth
  • My favorite packaging of all ColourPop palettes

XOXO, Crystal Emme
