Dupes, DIYs & Hauls Reviews

Are Shop Hush Eyeshadow Palettes Worth It?

Unless you’ve been living under a tectonic plate, then you know about shophush. Hush is an ecommerce website that sells a myriad of brands, from drugstore to high end. This site sells skincare, haircare, and makeup at affordable prices. They carry brands that make dupes for higher end products, famously known for eyeshadows palettes. I picked up 5 of five to test out, and see if they lived up to the Instagram hype.

Face Candy Milkshake Palette (Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Dupe)
This was the biggest bomb out of all of the palettes. Not because of the quality, which was the best out the five I ordered. On my skintone they aren’t discernible, even when used with different bases.

Face Candy Rainforest Palette (Lime Crime Venus II Dupe)
This one was my favorite color scheme. Colors like the ones in this palette function better when used over an opaque white base. If you enjoy these types of colors, keep in mind that they require a lot of building up.

Face Candy Tropics Palette (Lime Crime Venus Dupe)
Neither here, nor there with this palette. Most of the finishes are satin, so I wasn’t able to complete prevent the powders from looking muddy. Which occurs when similar eyeshadow finishes are used in one eye look.

Bad Habit Beauty Solstice Palette (Natasha Denona Sunset Palette Dupe)
I thoroughly enjoyed using the mattes in this palette. They did require to be built up a bit, not as much as the Face Candy Rainforest. The shimmer shades have a chunkier pearl, so use those shadows with a tacky base.

Bad Habit Beauty Supernova Palette (Natasha Denona Lila Palette Dupe)
The shimmers are much smoother in this palette versus solstice. It’s more of true rich shimmer, as opposed to chunky glitter. A few of the shades aren’t similar to the ones in the Lila Palette, but if you enjoy berries, and purples- this palette is for you.
I’ve tried these out for a weeks, and can state this with balls. I believe that when it comes to makeup, you get what you pay for. It’s not that these were of terrible quality, but it doesn’t compare to the company that they are replicating. If you’re on a budget these dupe palettes are a good option for you, but keep i mind that you aren’t going to receive the adequate amount of quality that you should expect from makeup. You’re going to have to work harder with these.

XOXO, Crystal Emme
