Drugstore Favorites, Top 5s & 10s

Top 10 | Drugstore Lip Products

Unlike my top 10 face and eye products, the top 10 in this post are shade specific. What I mean by that is all the products are one that I wear on the daily. I didn’t mention specific shades in the other drugstore posts because I feel like it can vary so much because we all have different preferences. I’m dropping product shades names in this one. Your going to see a recurring theme with the lip products I wear.

Ulta Beauty Lip Plumping Transforming Top Coat in Ethereal

I already have full lips, so I don’t think I need help in that department. It’s essentially an extremely glittery lip gloss that smells like oranges. It looks pretty on its own, which is how I wear it. It’s supposed to go over other lip colors.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in 22 Amore

The perfect blue red liquid lipstick. This lasts through greasy tacos and pesto orzo salad. Milani makes one of the best liquid lipsticks at the drugstore. They always come out with different colors. The ONLY gripe I have is that they’re slightly drying. I just pop on some lip primer or balm underneath.

Nyx Cosmetics Butter Gloss in Raspberry Pavlova & Tiramisu

Butter glosses are easily one the most comfortable glosses to wear. They have a cushion like feeling to the lips, while still giving shine. Sans the sticky feeling lip glosses often have. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of sticky gloss. I know some people are not fans of thicker glosses, so these would be a good option for you. Raspberry Pavlova is a deep rose and Tiramisu is a light pinky nude.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks in Wine w/ Everything & Rose Velvet

A classic lipstick line that has been around for ages. I often feel like it’s overlooked by all of the shiny new lip products the drugstore comes out with. These lipsticks come in a variety of finishes, but my favorite are the creme lipsticks. They’re smooth and provide excellent color pay off. I have many of these, but I picked the two I use on a regular basis.

L’Oréal Infallible Lip Paints Matte In Festival

I talked about these a little over a month ago in a mini review series I did. I enjoy using these. The texture is thick and mousse-ish, reminiscent of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams. I do like the color, I would describe it as a rusty peach nude. I hope L’Oréal makes more colors in this formula.

Sleek Major Matte Lip Creme in Velvet Slipper

The perfect cool plum. I’m not usually the biggest fan of cool lip colors, because my skin has a rich golden undertone, cool lip colors always pull grey on me. It’ll look slightly corpse-like, which is not a lewk I’m a huge fan of. Once this has dried on my lips it looks more of a neutral cool, not much grey pulls through.

Maybelline Inti-matte Nude Lipstick in Naked Coral

Often times when someone thinks of matte, they automatically go to a dry and chalky feeling on the lips. These are not like that at all even though they do have a matte finish. Maybelline did an excellent job at making a good range of nude lipsticks that would fit every single skin tone. This is a flattering pinky coral, that pops on the lips. OT: I prefer ordering my drugstore makeup online, because then I know it hasn’t been swatched.

I think the cool thing about buying lip products from the drugstore is that you can try different colors for an affordable price. You aren’t going to want to file for bankruptcy once you reach the register at Target if you buy some lip products. Lip products are one of those things that look different on everyone because our skin tone affects so much of how something will appear on us. Let me know what your fave drugstore lippies are.

♥XOXO♥, Crystal Emme
