Part TWO of my best beauty products of 2016 is here. I choose to do lips instead of face because I’ve been on a lip product kick this past year. I’m not the biggest fan of lip products, not that I don’t like wearing them, but it’s the part of my makeup routine I like the least. 2016 was the year of the nude lip for me, I rediscovered my love affair with nude lipstick, so I have a ton of nude lip products this year. I also have a good mix of drugstore and high end, which is always exciting.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks in Brazilian Tan & Toast of NY ($5)
I’m a huge fan of the Revlon super lustrous lipstick line. I think that they provide the biggest varitey of colors at the drugstore. The formula is comfrotable to wear, while still having great staying power. Brazilian Tan is a light nude that is a sheerer color and it looks amazing over a brown lip liner. Toast of new york is a mid tone pink brown.
M.A.C Lipstick in Retro ($17)
This has been my go to lipstick for the later part of 2016. The deep reddish brown color looks so good with my skintione. It definitely a deeper nude brown, but I love it. I love how comfortable it is, it’s not too shiny. I love using lip gloss with color because it makes my lips look plump.
Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick in Ginger ($29)
This liquid lipstick is one of my favorite colors. It dries down a terracotta shade on my skintone and I think it looks fabulous. The Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipsticks have great staying power and have an amazing scent. These last better with the matching lip liner, but it does wear a fair amount of time on it’s own.
Nyx Cosmetics Lip Lingerie in Exotic ($7)
This line of liquid lipsticks, along with the soft matte lip creams, are my favorite from the drugstore. Nyx has made a nude lipstick for everyone, so no matter what your skin color, you’ll find a color that suits you. Exotic is a reddish nude that pairs with most of the eye looks that I do, which is why I love it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sarafine ($20)
While I’m not a huge liquid lip fan (I much prefer bullet lipsticks) I’m loyal to this particular lip color. It’s a deep blue red that gives the classic pin-up style red. It’s not drying and it doesn’t sink into lip lines.
Maybelline Shine Shot Lip Gloss ($6)
This gloss has been my greatest lip discovery in 2016. It’s a thick and shiny formula, which gives the best shine to the lips. I mix this with loose pigments to create my own custom lip colors.
Wet n’ Wild Lip Liner in Chestnut ($1)
This is my go to lip liner, I’ve been using it since my senior year of high school. It’s a warm deep brown with slight red undertones. I use this with most of my nude lipstick and its only ONE DOLLAR.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Sunset Strip ($16)
If you’re a regular reader of my blog, then you know about my love affair with ABH lip gloss. Sunset strip is a sheer sparkly coral that’s packed with glitter. It’s one of my favorite glosses that I wear on its own.
Nyx Cosmetics Butter Gloss in Tiramisu ($5)
The butter glosses are the most comfortable lip gloss formula. It has a cushion feel on the lips and adds a nice wash of color. This line has the most beautiful color selection.
Kylie Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Literally ($15)
Kylie Cosmetics is the brand that has impressed me the most this year. The glosses are no exception, they have a nice weight to them. The gloss is a thicker & sticky formula, but I love that in a gloss. Literally is a mid tone nude that looks amazing on it’s on or over other nude lipsticks. I really hops that Kylie adds more gloss colors in different finish to her permanent line. I’d love to see glitter glosses.
