Best of Beauty 2016 | Eyes

Good morning, my absolutely awesome readers. Today I have the first installment of my best beauty products of 2016. I figured I’d start with eyes because eyes are my favorite part of doing my makeup. I discovered a ton of new products this year. Some of these products have been part of my makeup arsenal for years. Make sure to keep a pen and paper next to you, so you can write these down.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette ($42)

This eyeshadow palette was THE palette of 2016. For a good reason, the eyeshadows are amazing quality and make beautiful combinations. ABH hit the nail on the head with this one. I like the fact that the majority of the palette is matte, I prefer my palette have more matte eyeshadows. The mattes blended out without being patchy. The few shimmers were metallic without being chunky. This palette is a good take on a neutral palette, but it’s not a boring palette.

L’Oréal Lineur Intense Brush Tip ($7-9)

This is the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used. I’ve been using this eyeliner for seven years and I have no desire to use a different one. I love the brush tip, It’s thin and stiffer than most brush tip applicator. It makes applying winged eyeliner easy and fast.

M.A.C Paintpot in Soft Ochre ($22)

I’ve been using paintpots since high school, but I never started using soft ochre until the beginning of this year. I started using it to clean up my eyebrows and then eventually as an eyeshadow base. The shade has no shimmer, so it’s a skin tone color cream eyeshadow. It cancels out the veins I have on my eyelid and gives any powder eyeshadow I use on top of it, an extra boost of intensity.

L’Oréal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($6)

Another oldie but goodie, voluminous was one of the first mascaras I had ever tried and still use to this day. It gives my lashes volume and a little bit of length. It has a classic fiber brush wand and it adds a lot of product to the lashes, I happen to like a clumped lash look.

Benefit Cosmetics High Brow Highlight & Lift Pencil ($22)

This magical stick of linen pink goodness has saved my eyebrows this year. The pencil is creamy and has the most beautiful finish when it’s blended out. On my “no makeup” days, I’ll pop this on the browbone and inner corner with some mascara. It gives the most amazing lift to the eyes.

Nyx Cosmetics Glitter Primer ($6)

I got into using loose glitter and pigments this year, so when Nyx debuted this primer… I went crazy ? I love this because it does a good job at making sure your glitters stay in place all day. I’m thrilled about no longer having to use eyelash glue for glitter anymore.

M.A.C Prep + Prime 24 Hour Extend Eye Base ($23)

I’ve tried a plethora of eye primer in my day. My eyelids are super oily and not many eye primers work for my eyelids. I was watching a LustreLuxe video and Katy mentioned that she loved this primer. I picked it up on a trip to M.A.C and have been loving this ever since. It keeps my eye makeup on all day with no base. The colors don’t end up fading or flaking off throughout the day.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Ebony ($23)

ABH makes my favorite brow products. I love the dipbrow pomade and brow wiz, but I always find myself going back to the brow powder duo. I like how it makes my brows look, they look a lot more natural than if I were to use pomade or pencil.

Kylie Cosmetics KyShadow The Bronze Palette ($42)

This is definitely a surprise for me. I had no interest in buying Kylie Cosmetics, but one day I bit the bullet and have been hooked ever since. I waited until I read and watched reviews to buy this palette. I don’t regret it at all. The eyeshadow have the same consistency as the mattes from the ABH palette. It has a good variety of colors, so if you want a palette that has all the shadow you would ever need, pick this one up.

Nyx Cosmetics Eyebrow Shaper ($9)

Last and certainly not least, is my favorite brow setting product. I used to be a die-hard eyebrow gel user, until I bought this. It sets and shapes the eyebrows and it doesn’t leave them feeling stiff. It adds a natural looking gloss.

♥XOXO♥, Crystal Emme
