Review + Eye Look: Lorac Mega Pro 2

Hellooooo all of my beautiful readers! Today I have a review on a palette that, at first I wasn’t really impressed with. I always get the new beauty scoops on Instagram (@trendmood1 to be specific, if you check out their page, tell them you heard about it from me.) and I saw the sneak peek for this palette. I wasn’t really impressed.

The palette seemed too light eyeshadow heavy and it wasn’t like the first Mega Pro (which, Lorac if you’re reading this… please bring it back) I knew it wasn’t going to be EXACTLY like the first one, but I was hoping that it would still have the berry tones.

I don’t have the first one to compare, so you’re outta luck in that department. Emily Noel did a great review, and in her review she compared both palettes and talked about how if you had the first one, did you need the second one ?

Here’s her video:

Here’s MY review for the Lorac Mega Pro 2 Palette, This retails for 59$ at Ulta online and in-store, which you can find here.

This is what the cover of the palette looks like. If you never had any Lorac Pro Palettes, they have sort of a “rubbery” feel to them, like Nars products.

Texture

Lorac eyeshadows are really soft, borderline powdery. When using these eyeshadows you need to be careful and not handle them aggressively. Because they are so soft, I would recommend using a sticky base when using these.

Great Bases to Use:

  1. Nyx Full Coverage Concealer in Yellow
  2. Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
  3. Nyx Eye Shadow Base in White
  4. M.A.C Paint Pot in Soft Ochre or Painterly
  5. M.A.C Studio Finish Concealer

Durability:

These last 10 hours for me (a typical day that I keep my makeup on is for about 10 hours), with or without a base. Keep in mind that I do use primers when I’m testing out eyeshadows, because I do have oily eyelids & any eyeshadows do not last on me without one.

My Thoughts:

I think Lorac did a good job a creating a palette that can give you a variety of looks. They did an excellent job picking out the shades. If you haven’t tried any Lorac eyeshadows and you want to, pick up this palette. I think for the variety you definitely get a well rounded palette.

Grade: A+
